We borrowed my brother-in-law's van so we would have more room and left really early Saturday morning anticipating traffic for the long weekend. Traffic was so not an issue. We got to West Bank quite quickly and had breakfast in the cleanest McDonald's I'd ever seen. We shopped a bit in Kelowna while my mother-in-law got ready for us. Once we got in and settled into her really nice little place we walked through the Japanese garden to the beach then up to the street where there was a motorcycle thing happening. It was surprising to me how quiet it was, and uncrowded for a long weekend.
It started to rain so we ducked into a few shops and galleries to wait it out before heading back to mom-in-laws. This gave my kids the idea to paint some pictures for their Nana.
The next day was still gray and quiet so we drove out to check out a river and some gardens nearby. Then just chilled till the evening when we went back out to the beach.
The next morning the sun came out. We ventured out to a fishing spot my husband wanted to try. My sons line got tangled early on so Nana and I took the kids to the playground where they happily played in the water all afternoon. Sure we got some sunburns (just minor ones) but the fun was worth it. Afterward we had supper/Lunch at Whitespot, came back to pack up and headed home. Another light traffic drive.
It was a nice trip.
