Not really, I do make dinner mostly, it's just my kids are going and trying new and challenging things(sometimes for them, sometimes for me.)
My son went and climbed to the top of one of our taller yard trees-this didn't happen while I was making dinner-he couldn't get down but our tallest ladder didn't reach so my dad had to go up the ladder and talk him down. My boy is so proud of himself right now. :)
However when making a very simple non time consuming dinner my baby girl decides to strip herself of her restrictive diaper-not a big deal, then finds clear nail polish to dump all over her hand and the couch!(at least it is clear because I could not get it out of the couch) Then she finds my favorite mixed tape made by a dear friend of mine, gets it out of its cover and proceeds to pull out all the tape-DESTROYED! :(
Then my boy gets one of his nose bleeds, which although he takes care of himself he drips a lovely path of blood to the bathroom..
THEN both kids start crying because they "feel bad for me" and need hugs.
Finally I get the girl diapered, cleaned and sort of eating, the boy happier, out of his room and in front of his dinner, the couch cushion as cleaned as I can get it, floor wiped up and tape thrown out. My house stinks like nail polish and remover, my meal is soggy and cold and I want to run away screaming but hubby is out tonight and the folks have company( so no shooing the kiddlets there).
All I wanted to do was make a simple toasted chicken sandwich. :(
funny thing is nothing happened before our since. they saved it all for that 20 minute period.though there is still a couple hours till bed time :)
